Transitioning to real life...

Here we are, September 1st! First day back to school has come and gone! I hope your families have made a smooth transition back whether it’s virtual or in person. We have decided to do a mix in our home. We are sending our two year old in person to her preschool mornings Monday-Friday! Our 7 year old is in second grade and we decided to give the MyPCS virtual a try and see how the area responds with kids back in school. Let me just say…this is a challenge. We were so hopeful but it is still not entirely organized and a bit difficult to figure out exactly what to do!

From asking around, we have heard we are not the only ones. So how do we all navigate this crazy time? Flexibility is the name of the game!! We have to do our best to keep our cool and resilience. Help our kiddos learn these valuable skills when they face stressful situations in the future.

This morning we didn’t have school. We got ready, sat down to the computer and there was no teacher. We were switched last week to a new teacher who will be teaching only virtual students. She wasn’t quite ready today….so there you have it, no school. We had to pivot and do something else. While I had him in school mode we worked through some challenging math problems together, did some pages in his summer bridge book and made paper airplanes. A little business and a whole lot of fun.

Here’s the thing it wasn’t ideal but we made the best of it. The sure thing is tomorrow will come and we will show up ready again. Don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun! Keep your cool and show your kiddos how to make the best of any challenge thrown their way. Keep it up folks! You’ve got this!
